Questions Founders Ask
Plans, data, security and the One-time model, in plain words.
What does BRIQ build?
A monthly financial model and operating plan for your company: revenue, team, expenses, cash and runway. BRIQ starts from your accounting system, your financial statements, your existing model or six quick questions, and fills any gaps with benchmarks for your stage.
Which systems can I connect?
Live today: Xero, Zoho Books and FreshBooks for accounting. Coming soon: QuickBooks Online, Stripe, Gusto and Deel (waiting on each provider's approval), plus Wave, NetSuite, Chargebee, Paddle, Remote and OnPay. Without any of them, you can upload your P&L and balance sheet, upload your existing model or answer six quick questions. Until a payroll system connects, upload a payroll register or add people on Headcount.
Can BRIQ change anything in my books?
No. Every connection to your accounting, billing and payroll systems is read-only: BRIQ pulls your actuals and never writes back. You can disconnect any system at any time, and syncing from it stops.
What files can I upload, and how does BRIQ read them?
Statements (P&L and balance sheet) as PDF, Excel or CSV, and your existing model as Excel, CSV or a Google Sheets link, in any layout. AI reads the file and matches your accounts to model lines. You then review the reading on one screen, and every number BRIQ assumed is listed so you can change it.
What if BRIQ reads my model wrong?
Ask for a Free Model Review from the review screen. The BRIQ team goes through your file, corrects how BurnRateIQ read it and emails you when it's ready. It costs nothing.
How much does BurnRateIQ cost?
Free costs $0 and includes one upload and one connection. Pro costs $99 a month or $990 a year and adds monthly sync, variance, unlimited scenarios, Excel export and your team. One-time is a single $179 payment for your model in Excel. Scale, for larger teams, is coming soon.
How does the One-time model work?
You pay $179 once and get your model by email as an Excel file with live formulas. For 7 days after delivery, you can fix any number and regenerate the file for free. There's no subscription to cancel.
Does the One-time payment count toward Pro?
Yes. Upgrade to Pro within 30 days of your One-time purchase and the amount you paid comes off your Pro invoices.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Paid plans renew each month or year until you cancel, and you can cancel from Billing whenever you like. Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for, then your account moves to Free.
Do you offer refunds?
Payments are non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund. When you cancel, your plan stays on until the end of the period you already paid for.
Does the Excel export keep live formulas?
Yes. Every line in the Excel file is a live formula, so investors can trace each number back to its inputs, and a Sources tab shows where each outside assumption comes from. Pro and One-time include the export; Free doesn't.
Who can see my data?
Only the people you invite, and each one sees what their role allows: Admin, Editor, Department Head (one department only), Viewer, Commenter or Investor (Summary only, never the employee list). Inviting your team comes with Pro. Outside your company, only the providers that run BurnRateIQ process your data, and we never sell it.
How do you keep my data secure?
We encrypt data in transit and at rest, keep connection tokens in an encrypted vault and separate each company's data with database-level access rules. You can also turn on two-step sign-in: after your password, BurnRateIQ asks for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app such as 1Password, Google Authenticator or Authy.
Do you use AI on my data? Does it train on it?
We use Anthropic's Claude to read the files and models you upload, match your accounts to model lines, answer Ask BRIQ questions from your model's figures, draft investor updates and suggest plan changes from public news it finds on the web. Anthropic gets only the data each task needs, under terms that bar it from training its models on that data. AI never sets a number in your model without a validation step or your approval, so check what it produces before you rely on it.
What happens to my data if I close my account?
We delete your company data within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal or billing reasons.
